German Armor from 15th Century (Medieval Knight Artwork)
This print shows a fully armed German knight standing in his armor, drawn in clear black lines on a warm parchment style background. You can see the helmet, breast, arms and leg pieces stacked over each other, so the whole figure feels tall, solid and ready for battle. It has a strong medieval look that works well as wall art in a study, gaming room or reading corner, especially next to books, dark wood and candlelight.
About this art print
This print is based on a historical illustration of German armor from around the time of Emperor Maximilian I, when full plate harness for knights reached one of its high points in design. The armor in the picture shows the classic late medieval look: a fitted breast and back, rounded shapes on the arms and legs, and a closed helmet to protect the head and face.
Armor from this period was made from shaped steel plates that covered almost the whole body. Craftsmen hammered, riveted and polished each part so it could move with the fighter while still keeping him safe. In German workshops, armorers also began to play with line and surface, using ridges and curved forms to make the metal both stronger and more elegant. That mix of protection and style is part of what still draws people to late medieval German armor today.
The page is arranged like a clean study sheet, so you can read the armor’s silhouette and lines right away. Up close, the joints, overlapping plates, and tiny engraved marks start to show, and you get a real sense of how the metal had to bend and shift with the body. If you want to see that same “made to move” logic across several suits and parts, Different Armours (Unknown, 14th–16th century.) continues the idea naturally, like the next page in the same notebook.
Craft & finish
Every replica we make is individually hand-processed in our family workshop. We finish the paper with a traditional beeswax seal to give it a warm, heavy texture. Our team also adds subtle gold paint details by hand to help the artwork truly shine. To complete the look, we hand-burn the edges to give each piece the feel of a true historical artifact.
While our smaller sizes are perfect for gallery walls, our 43x61 cm Large replica is a museum-scale centerpiece. Because of the size, the hand-processing and beeswax application take much longer. This extra time and care ensures that every centimeter of the historic illustration is preserved with a rich, authentic glow.
